February Software Updates
Valentine’s Day is in February – but Cupid doesn’t need to shoot an arrow into our hearts because we already love our customers! As part of our our on-going effort to bring you the very latest tools to help increase ticket sales, we’re excited to announce the following software updates.
February 10, 9:00 p.m.
Automatic Redirect to HTTPS
All URLs to ThunderTix are automatically redirected to a secure page (https) rather than waiting to redirect only on the checkout page where credit card data is entered.
February 8, 10:45 p.m.
Guest List Permissions Changed
Access to Guest Lists, a vital part of tour operator manifests, has been tied to the permission that provides access to view all Reports. Since many venues wish to separate financial data from customer lists, we've separated the permissions to provide greater security while providing the all-important access to Guest Lists. Please review your staff permissions and should you wish to limit a staff member's access to the Guest List, go to My Account, click on the user's name, and modify the permissions to enable View/Edit Customers and then disable the View Reports checkbox. More kudos go out to Suzanne H. for pointing out this improvement.
Changes for Calendar Style Event Listings
First, we added a link from the calendar layout to allow your customers to View Details of the event. Second, when adding or editing events, you may now add images and social links, and these will appear in the View Details page. Further, the new images will appear in the Upcoming Events section of the confirmation emails to help promote future events your venue is holding.
February 8, 6:00 a.m.
Higher Clarity Logo on PDF Ticket
We've greatly improved the clarity of the venue logos on the PDF tickets. Take a moment to review any order created after this update, or click the Preview PDF link from any event's listing to ensure your logo appears clearly. If it lacks clarity, it may be that the image size is smaller than the default size and we are enlarging it (thus reducing quality) to fit the space allocated on the PDF ticket. To correct a blurred logo, consider uploading a new image at 300 pixels x 100 pixels or greater. We will automatically resize it for the PDF space.
Wildcard Search on Coupon Codes
Yes, Sandy, there is a Santa Claus! To help find coupons more easily, we've instituted a wildcard search for coupon codes to obviate the need to page through the coupon listing. Type 2 or more characters and we'll find any coupon codes that start with the chosen characters.
February 6, 12:30 a.m.
Expanded Customers Information
You may now click on any customer name in your orders listing and view the customer's order history with your venue. Included in the information is the number of orders or tickets purchased, any donations made and the time since the last donation, and a new customer notes field to track important information about your customer.
Coupon Warning for Customers with Cookies Disabled
For users with cookies disabled, our order checkout process would not process coupons applied to the order. To help befuddled customers understand what is going wrong, we now provide a clear warning indicating they must turn cookies on or use another browser. Thank you to Sandy S. for flagging the error!
Sales Tax Allowed on Defined Packages
When creating or editing your defined packages, if your venue already applies sales tax, you may now elect to apply tax to the cost of a defined package.
February 2, 8:00 a.m.
Improved Navigation for Event Dates Listing
When viewing the dates for any event listing, you'll see our previous single page of event information is now divided into several tabs such as details, PDF and event preview, Tickets, and Fees.
To view any expired event, use the calendar selector at the top of the Dates listing page. To return to the current dates view, click the reset button that appears after a date search has been made.
Confirmation Email Change in Effect
There will be no confirmation emails sent to venues unless you opt-in through My Account. Click your venue name and then check the box indicating you wish to receive emails.
We have decided to continue including PDF attachments until further notice. We will notify you here when the change to remove attachments is in effect.
As always, if you have any questions regarding these updates please contact support.
Thank you for making ThunderTix your choice in event ticketing.
