June Software Updates – Fun In The Sun!

ThunderTix June software updates

Summer is here! As the fun in the sun begins we’re excited to announce the following software updates.

June 27th, 2013 7:00 p.m.

Event Specific Products

Old_fashionedSell "drink tickets" to the children's matinée? Now, that would send the wrong message! Our Product Module's newest feature allows you to create products and make those available only for certain events--or all of them. Once you select the "available to all" option, all events and any Defined Packages will automatically include the designated products for purchase.

Shortened "Duplicate Transaction" Time Period

Authorize.net has a 2 minute window that prevents an order from being processed twice to prevent your customers from being double charged. At times, transactions are declined due to an address mismatch, but upon a second attempt to process the order with corrected information (inside the 2 minute window), customers received a "Duplicate Order" Declined message. We've now decreased the Authorize.net window to 15 seconds. We hope this reduces those declined transactions and would love to hear your feedback about its effectiveness.

PayPal Country Codes

Recent changes to the PayPal gateway prevented processing of credit cards with International billing addresses. We've modified our data to meet with the new requirements and expect these sales to process without a hitch!

Inactive Users Moved

Primary admins will now see less "clutter" with the move of Inactive Users to their own page. Look for the link at the bottom of your Active Users' listing.

Event (Calendar) Display Changes

You may now mark Performance times as private prior to the event and allow staff to continue to sell them.

Barcode Reporting

All Order Summary pages now show all valid barcodes for an order. In addition, if a barcode has been scanned, we display the person that scanned each ticket along with the date and time of the scan.

Alert for Scanned Tickets when Refunding

Researching whether an ordered ticket was redeemed prior to Voiding or Refunding an order is a little bit easier. We now alert you if barcodes have been scanned at the time you process the refund or void.

Daily Sales Report Changes

To help you with mailing list merges, you no longer have to transfer the customer name to the "shipping name" field. If no name is entered, the billing name will be used instead. Subtotaled amounts are now displayed to the decimal point, and for venues using Sales Outlet Locations, we now display the order location.

June 4th, 2013 6:00 a.m.

Declined Order Display

You may win a "lost" sale if you reach out to patrons whose payment was declined. We suggest you periodically visit the Orders page to see included declined orders. Click on the order ID to learn the reason behind the decline, and in many cases, you'll find an email and phone number. If you don't see evidence that they successfully purchased tickets in a subsequent order, consider contacting them to assist in their order and regain the sale!

June 1st, 2013 3:30 p.m.

Mailing Label for Thermal Tickets

For venues that send thermal tickets by regular mail or hold thermal tickets for Will Call, you may now include a shipping label in standard window ticket envelopes for convenience. To activate the inclusion of a printed label at the time of ticket printing, go to My Account, click your Venue Name, and scroll down to Email and Ticket Delivery, then check the box titled, "Include a shipping label when printing Thermal Tickets".

Post Sale Display

Especially useful for venues which choose to remove tickets from Online Sale just before the event, we now have a "Post Sale Announcement". Enter a message such as, "Tickets still available at the Box Office", enter an activation time, and the message will replace the Event's description and "Select" button for purchase.

As always, if you have any questions regarding these updates please contact support.

Thank you for making ThunderTix your choice in event ticketing.

Sincerely,
The ThunderTix Team
