Importing Multiple Coupons Made Easy!
Hello everyone, my name is Courtney, and I am on the customer support team. Today, we’re going to talk about coupons, specifically how to import multiple coupons. This tutorial will guide you step by step.
Accessing the Coupons Section
First, log in to your account and open the Revenue Builders tab on the left-hand menu. Click on Coupons, then select the Create Coupon button. You’ll see three options: Create Code, Import Multiple, and Group Discount. In this guide, we’ll focus on Import Multiple.
Preparing Your Coupon File
Imagine you have a group of patrons who attended at least five shows last season and you want to reward them. To create a unique coupon for each patron, prepare a file in Excel or CSV format. The file should have two columns: Name and Coupon Code. Names can be first, last, or both, and coupon codes can be anything you like. For this example, we’re using the last name plus “25” for the upcoming 2025 season.
Uploading and Configuring Coupons
Back on the Coupons page, upload your file and give the coupon set a memorable name, such as “Rewind Reward 2025”. Next, configure each settings tab:
- Valid Events: Select the events, performances, or packages the coupon applies to. For this example, it’s valid for all events, but you can select specific ones.
- Maximum Redemptions: Choose how many times the coupon can be used. For single-use coupons, select Single Use. Multi-use or unlimited options are also available.
- Discount Type: Decide whether the coupon gives Dollar Off, Percentage Off, or BOGO. Here, we’re giving 25% off per ticket. Only one ticket is required, and usage is limited to once per order.
Advanced options, like setting an expiration date or assigning a category, are available but optional. Once all settings are configured, click Create Coupon.
Importing the File
Match the columns from your uploaded file to the appropriate fields using the dropdown menus. Select which column represents the customer name and which represents the coupon code. Keep “Ignore first row” checked if your file includes headers. Click Import File, and all unique coupon codes will appear, each assigned to the corresponding patron.
Testing a Coupon
To test a coupon, go to the public page and select a performance—for example, A Christmas Carol on Sunday, December 14th. Choose a seat, continue, select your ticket type, and enter the coupon code, such as Dodge25. Click Apply, and the system will confirm the discount was applied. This ensures each patron has a unique and valid code.
