The Scoot Inn has been a local Austin watering hole since 1871 and lays claim as one of the oldest bars in the state of Texas. Initially opened as a railroad saloon for travelers to stop in on their journey, the Scoot Inn became a local favorite of East Side workers. Dan Dyer, one of my favorite local musicians, played the other night here in Austin, and I knew I’d miss the show. Stacy and I were working late trying to add Canadian payment processing to ThunderTix, and at 10:00 PM, we still hadn’t finished.
